Drawing Deep Waters From Shallow Wells

Insight & understanding from the mundane

I remember back in my early teens when I was just beginning to really take note of the things of God, I was watching a movie in the living room with my elder sister who was more seasoned christian than myself, at some point in the movie she turns to me and begins to point out (while the movie was still playing) how certain scenes expressed certain truths, how the hero stood like this, and how an action scene depicted this spiritual truth, and how that part of the movie was analogous to this area of life, and how what the villain said revealed that and on and on she went, getting more visibly excited as she spoke, so excited she was that she started bubbling in tongues here and there like the latest drunken Pentecostal on the street. I remember looking at her agape, my eyes oscillating between her and the action movie on the television and wondering how on earth is she seeing all this from this movie? It’s not even a Christian movie!Read More »

Spiritual Parenting 101

Judges 13:8-13, Gen 18:19
The privilege to have a child comes with the responsibility of raising the child aright.
Children are good gifts from God, they are not a means to our selfish ends, they are not
an extension of our personalities, they are not investments for our latter years, they are
not symbols of our social status, they are not means to accomplish the dreams or goals
we never could or paths to correct our mistakes of the past, they are in themselves
unique, special and individual souls, gifts from God to us, not necessarily for us and as
such every parent becomes a co-laborer with God in accomplishing His purpose for that
individual child.Read More »

Identity

who are you?

This simple question is perhaps one of the most difficult question to answer, simply because they can be so many true answers; I’m a human, I’m tall, I’m a Norwegian, I’m a lover of chocolate, I’m a fan of Arsenal FC, I’m a doctor, I’m a world changer, all these might be true but is that the truth of who you are?Read More »

Defining Success

God or Science? (The evolution of Science)

The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.
Psalms 19:1-4
For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine
nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.
Romans 1:20

I love science, I love the fact of what science is and claims to be, I love the fact, science is factual and should it be any less it would not be fit to be called science, I believe science is one of the greatest blessings humanity has been given and I believe it was given by God.
God and science, that’s a phrase that a lot of people don’t believe, go together, they would rather say ‘God or Science’ but I would rather say ‘God of science’. So why the hostility between the two, if indeed God is actually the God of science and science is of God, why do some scientists claim there is no God?Read More »
